examining the attached article (Self-Disclosure 1957)

Communication theories evolve over time. In the early days, communication theories were “inflexible” in that they did not consider confounding, moderator, cultural, or other type of variables that might affect the results. For example, Media Richness Theory began hypothesizing that some forms of media are always better than others but did not consider the moderator variables of relationship, context, or content.

To this end, examine the attached article (Self-Disclosure 1957) below entitled Some Factors in Self-Disclosure by Sidney Jourard and Paul Lasakow and explain if since 1957 has the theory of Self-Disclosure evolved in any way. In your response, identify other theories and their authors as well as any other research that shows the evolution of Self-Disclosure theory. Also, look at the validity of the results by examining the methods used; meaning did they do things the right way? Use APA or MLA when citing sources.

Why Is Movement an Important Tool to Use in Teaching Children Paper

The purpose of this class is to expose you to the many available art forms and give you ideas on how to use them to teach children. In order to do that, you will need to do research. You will read articles, the text and use your own experiences. After all the readings, research and teaching you have done, you will write a paper that thoroughly covers the art form assigned.

First –

  • What is movement?
  • What are the components of movement?
  • What tools or materials can be used with movement?
  • Why is movement an important tool to use in teaching children?

These websites have some great articles about what movement is and activities that can be used with students.

Movement and Learning, Jensen **

** Articles are provided under “Readings” on the Resources and Materials page of this course.

Do research using the website above, the texts, or articles and websites that you find, for information to answer the questions.

Next– Explain how you would integrate movement into your teaching.

This should include three specific movement activities. Be specific, detailed and thorough in your subject matter and the movement activities you would use.

After your reading and research, write a 2-page paper that answers the questions. The information you include should be detailed and thorough and include all main points. Write and save your paper in a Word document and then upload your saved document here.

There is a rubric for this work under “Handouts” in the “Rubrics” section on the Resources page of this course.

You should select any article that is written on any topic from chapter2 (“Educating Public Managers and Policy Analysts in an Era of Informatics”)

Each student will write a short research paper for a peer-reviewed research paper that pertains to the week’s assigned reading. This will be a detailed summary of the research paper and what you gained from the research. Each week, you will find an article/peer-reviewed research paper that pertains to the week’s assignment. If you have a difficult time, Google Scholar is a wonderful location to find these types of articles:

https://scholar.google.com/

Once you find the article, you will simply read it and then write a review of it. Think of it as an article review where you submit a short overview of the article.

*All outside sources must be referenced and cited in your paper. All papers will be reviewed with a plagiarism software. Any references not properly referenced and cited will result in a 0 on your paper. Multiple violations will result in a failure for the course!

Lobbyists and interest groups in Texas , writing homework help

SLO #2: Lobbyists and interest groups in Texas. 70% of students will

successfully research and analyze the influence of interest groups on

lawmaking, using current news articles/political action committee

websites.

Activity for assessment:

Review the following websites. The first is a link to an article

regarding how lobbyists may influence Texas lawmakers. The second is a

link to the Texas State Rifle Association Political Action Committee

website. Be sure to check out the “About Us” and “Legislation”

links at the TSRPAC website.

http://www.texastribune.org/2015/03/16/analysis-wh…

http://www.tsrapac.com/

Once you’ve fully completed reading and reviewing the above-mentioned

web links, consider the impact Interest groups and lobbyists have on

lawmaking. Then, discuss the pros and cons of this collective influence

by answering the following:

Based on what you’ve read, should there be tougher restrictions and more

strict oversight on interest groups? Or, since they represent such a

large group in society who may not have an influential voice otherwise,

is this in the best interest of democracy?

Specifically, consider that there are very rigid limitations on how much

money that “we the people” can contribute to campaigns and, based on

this, have very little individual ability to influence decision-making

in this way.

Should the government place more rigid limitations and more oversight on

the interest groups, who have access to greater funds, in an ability to

allow all of our voices to count equally? How and why?

Overall, do you believe the collective influence of interest groups

override individual citizen’s ability to influence politics?

Lastly, give some examples of 21st century interest groups and how they have influenced lawmaking. Be specific.

    Hurricane Sandy

View the step-by-step solution to: “It has been said that “all disasters are political,” and there is…”

It has been said that “all disasters are political,” and there is considerable evidence to support this statement. For instance, the elder George Bush is said to have lost the election because of a perceived deficient response to Hurricane Andrew in 1992. His son, George W. Bush, suffered politically for years as recovery operations on the Gulf Coast dragged on at a pace considered unsatisfactory by constituents and Congress alike.

In the aftermath of disasters, we look to our elected leaders to solve the problem at hand, and their ability to do so influences public opinion from that point forward. Prior to the onset of disasters, however, the political nature of disasters is not as apparent to these same leaders.

    For the Portfolio Project:

Assess the current state of the emergency management field in regards to its political influence. Does it appear political influences are subsiding? Give two examples supporting your assessment.

Analyze Hurricane Sandy a U.S. disaster and identify three politically charged components in the mitigation, preparedness, response, and/or recovery phases.
Describe how disaster policy might be more proactive and how this could be accomplished.
List the greatest obstacles to a more proactive evolution of emergency management.

Your paper should be 3000-4000 words in length, well written, and formatted per the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Support your analysis by referencing and citing at least five credible sources (peer-reviewed articles, textbook, and/or government reports) other than the course textbook. The Virtual Library is a good place to start to find credible sources, including government reports.

    Additional Requirements

    Min Pages: 8
    Max Pages: 10
Level of Detail: Show all work
Other Requirements: Please have five credible sources like the requirements ask and have them properly in APA style in the paper when referencing a source. Please also have a title page and Reference page
