Reflect on the Jussie Smollett incident that is making the rounds as of late. You all know what intersectionality as a theory is about, but how are we to judge the alleged attack on Smollett, who is both black and homosexual? Question: given the need to consider oppression as multifaceted and complex, why do you think his alleged assault went viral–was it because of his sexuality or his race? Or both?
