identify problems, and assist with data collection for research studies (American Nurses Credentialing Center [ANCC], 2013). Reviewing the literature is a first step in implementing evidence-based practice and identifying problems.

Comment 1

Evidence-based practice (EBP) promotes quality, safe, and cost-effective outcomes for patients, families, healthcare providers, and the healthcare system. It evolves from the integration of the best research evidence with clinical expertise and patients’ needs and values (Grove, Gray & Burns, 2015. 5th ed).

EBP incorporates the needs and values of the patient and the patient’s need(s) might focus on health promotion, illness prevention, acute or chronic illness management, rehabilitation, and/or a peaceful death. In addition, patients bring values or unique preferences, expectations, concerns, and cultural beliefs to the clinical encounter. With EBP, patients and their families are encouraged to take an active role in the management of their health values (Grove, Gray & Burns, 2015. 5th ed).

Infection control in cancer patient with low immunity using evidence-based practice: Hand hygiene using soap and water or an antiseptic hand rub for all patients and their caregivers.

Wearing protective gowns for expected body fluid contamination, use of gloves when contact with blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions are expected.

Limitation in the number of visitors and restrictions in visitors with symptoms of respiratory infection should be allowed. Environmental interventions such as keeping windows closed, using negative-pressure rooms, and using high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters

Contact precautions for patients known to be colonized or infected with resistant organisms (American Nurse Today, 2011).

Evidence-based practices related to central-line patency: Needleless connectors with neutral/zero fluid displacement during access and de-access, prophylactic antimicrobial lock solutions instead of heparin or saline solution and standing orders for managing catheter occlusions (American Nurse Today, 2011).

Comment 2

Through nursing research, empirical knowledge can be developed to improve nursing care, patient outcomes, and the healthcare delivery system. For example, nurses need a solid research base to implement and document the effectiveness of selected nursing interventions in treating particular patient problems and promoting positive patient and family outcomes. Also, nurses need to use research findings to determine the best way to deliver healthcare services to ensure that the greatest number of people receive quality, safe care.

Our Hospital is currently trying to achieve the Magnet status. There has been a big push for nurses with an associate degree to earn their bachelor’s degree.

You may be required to review the literature as part of a course assignment or project in the clinical setting, especially projects in Magnet hospitals. Nurses in Magnet hospitals must implement evidence-based practice, identify problems, and assist with data collection for research studies (American Nurses Credentialing Center [ANCC], 2013). Reviewing the literature is a first step in implementing evidence-based practice and identifying problems.

Briefly address the case protocol (if appropriate) for the data sources and describe how the accuracy of that data might influence the disease surveillance

500 words not including min 4 references APA format

Public health officials use myriad data sources to collect information for disease surveillance. Because of the ease of access, the majority of this information comes from electronic data sources such as daily physician visits, frequency of ambulance use, and filling of pharmacy prescriptions. Because every piece of information a public health official receives is not an indicator of disease, it is critical to find the right data sources to detect events and trends.

Often, creative thinking is required to identify potentially useful data sources and the combination of variables that may be revealing. Of course, identifying the data sources is only half the battle. It is also critical to determine how reliable the data are and how they will be obtained

Select a chronic disease or condition. Analyze data sources that are or might be used to monitor the disease or condition. Then identify three data sources that you think are useful indicators of an event or trend related to the disease or condition you have selected. Justify your selection of each of the data sources you identified. Briefly address the case protocol (if appropriate) for the data sources and describe how the accuracy of that data might influence the disease surveillance

Describe the fundamentals of economic viability when it comes to the health policy process.

  • Describe the fundamentals of economic viability when it comes to the health policy process.
  • Explain the concepts of relevant cost and marginal costing.
  • What steps are involved in conducting benefits/cost and cost-effectiveness studies?
  • With these fundamentals in mind, focus on the methods that public health professionals use to analyze the feasibility and desirability of health policy by examining the healthcare costs and concerns in your state and analyze how finances play a role in policy decisions.
  • Research your state and analyze the current finance and cost concerns for healthcare.
  • Who makes the final decision for your state?
  • What problems might be faced in terms of implementing the policy?

Describe one health issue and discuss how nutrition can impact this health issue positively and negatively.

Module 5 DQ 1 and DQ 2

Tutor MUST have a good command of the English language

These are two discussion questions

Your DQ1 and DQ2 posts must be at least 150 words and have at least one reference cited for each question. In-text citation, please. If I have to rewrite the work this will be unacceptable.

DQ 1

Describe one health issue and discuss how nutrition can impact this health issue positively and negatively.

DQ 2

Choose one disorder of malnutrition. Discuss the genetic and environmental influences on this disorder, including prevalence rates, testing, treatment, and prognosis.

Describe the results of the assessments, drawing conclusions about the health risks to the aggregate as you see them.

Phase 3: Analyzing the Aggregate Strengths and Weaknesses

For Phase 3 of the Capstone project, analyze and describe the strengths and weaknesses of the aggregate
and the community where the aggregate resides.
Be sure to apply Mobilize, Assess, Plan, Implement, Track (MAP-IT) in your assessment process.

  • By the due date assigned, submit your response in a 1-page Microsoft Word document.
  • Support your responses with examples.
  • Cite all sources in APA format.

Phase 4: Risk Assessment

For Phase 4 of your project, you will select a family in your aggregate and complete a risk assessment in
the field using the information from chapter 18 “Community as Client: Assessment and Analysis” and
“Appendix D Friedman Family Assessment Model (Short Form)” as a guide. Describe how the family,
environment, home, and risk assessments were conducted, using your course textbook as a reference.
Describe the results of the assessments, drawing conclusions about the health risks to the aggregate as you
see them.

  • By the due date assigned, submit your response in a 2- to 3-page Microsoft Word document.

What is a phenomenological community to which you belong? Why is it a phenomenological community?

Consider the different communities to which you belong: 1.What is the geopolitical community in you live? Why is it geopolitical? 2.What is a phenomenological community to which you belong?
